Major General (Ret.) Lior Carmeli is one of Israel's foremost experts in cyber defense, digital warfare, and military technology transformation. Over a 36-year career in the IDF, he rose to command the C4I and Cyber Defense Directorate (J6), responsible for the military's command-and-control infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, and transition to a data-driven fighting force.
Following his military retirement he founded LERNA Consulting and Technologies, advising governments, global technology firms, and cybersecurity companies on digital transformation and cyber resilience. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tel Aviv University, an M.S. from the National Defense University, and completed the Recanati-Kaplan Fellowship at Harvard University.
